Project Summary:

The Mozambique Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MozMEL) Activity is a five-year initiative to support the Mission in monitoring, evaluation, learning, training, and logistical support.

Position Summary:

The USAID/Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Fellowship Program implemented by MozMEL is targeted towards recent graduates from universities across Mozambique. The fellowship will cover relocation and subsistence costs for four fellows. The MEL Fellows will work directly with USAID and MozMEL staff and have an opportunity to take part in meetings and events at USAID. The Fellows will focus on professional, international development, MEL skill development and learning about USAID processes and development strategy in the first two months. After this period, Fellows will specialize in either evaluations, monitoring, facilitation or operations. This is a full-time position for the period of February 5, 2024 – November 29, 2024, based in Maputo city.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Attend all trainings, language courses, and meetings.
  • Meet regularly with Point of Contact and support ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and facilitation interventions with USAID.
  • Conduct desk reviews, take notes during technical meetings and facilitation workshops.
  • Support logistics of events with USAID.
  • Support the intervention manager on management and logistics of an evaluation.
  • Support intervention managers on all aspects of intervention management assigned to the Fellow.
  • Respond to USAID requests for administrative and technical assistance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum one year of postdoctoral research experience required.
  • Experience in volunteer, informal or formal work is preferred.
  • Fluency in Portuguese is required. Basic-intermediate fluency in English is preferred.
