Tetra Tech seeks an experienced, driven, and detail-oriented Marketing/Proposal Coordinator I to support marketing and business development activities. The position will be based in Diamond Bar, CA, report to the Marketing Director of our Solid Waste West operating unit, and serve as an integral part of our Business Development and Marketing team. The pay range for this position is $27.88-$31.73 an hour, based on qualifications and experience. 

 

Your Role:

In support of Technical Leads, coordinate the preparation of proposals and qualification documents:

  • Coordinate all phases of the proposal process from kick-off meeting to production and delivery - preparing schedules, collecting data, and coordinating team meetings as appropriate.  Coordinate with Corporate Marketing Group for large/complex proposals as required.
  • Work with technical staff to analyze and evaluate RFPs.
  • Develop proposal outlines, formats, graphics, and styles.
  • Draft sections of proposals, including but not limited to project descriptions and resumes, tailored for specific proposals.  Work with subject matter experts to develop other proposal content.
  • Compile metrics, statistics, and other data needed for specific proposals.
  • Coordinate proposal production (graphics, technical editing, and coordination of submission), with emphasis on quality assurance/quality control.
  • Prepare statements of qualifications (SOQs), brochures, and other marketing material.
  • Assist technical leads with oral preparation, presentation materials, posters, etc.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of internal business group functions.
  • Logistical support for external conferences and events.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1 year of directly applicable experience is required. 
  • Prior experience writing sections of technical proposals and qualification documents with minimal direction and revisions by others. 
  • Proficiency in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Photoshop, Acrobat Professional, and Microsoft Teams / SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in the use of Adobe Illustrator; InDesign is an asset.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple schedule-driven projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, technical, graphics, and support personnel.
  • Ability to coordinate team meetings.
  • Experience with professional service firms in a similar business development environment is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of techniques and methods of planning, organizing, and writing various proposal types, client account plans, and marketing-related materials.
  • Knowledge of technical writing methods, procedures, graphics design methods, techniques, and equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of municipal, commercial, and government contracts and Requests for Proposal/Qualifications (RFPs/RFQs) is preferred.
  • Skill in technical report writing, presentation and document formatting techniques, and computer use in a mobile, connected environment.
  • Individuals should be able to coordinate with other staff, peers, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
  • Experience with oral presentation planning and delivery capabilities is a plus.
  • Must have skills in research, composing, reviewing, illustrating, and editing technical documents, materials, and reports. Communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
