Your Role:

 

We are currently seeking a Lead Electrical Arrangement Engineer for our Mississauga, Ontario office. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare substation plan and profile view, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, cable trench, cable trays, conduit layout and detail installation drawings.
  • Assigns and outlines work, advises on technical problems, and reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
  • Lead discipline teams to complete projects on time, on budget and to the high level of quality expected.
  • Develops, approves, and co-ordinates work schedules for discipline to ensure that objectives of cost, quality, and time are met
  • Requires effective working relationships with colleagues, officials, and associates for the purpose of discussing design problems, explaining design features and specifications, and other project control criteria
  • Establishes and maintains client contacts to seek or provide technical information related to the immediate project
  • Analyses problems, organizes investigations, and determines specific design criteria
  • Makes commitments on acceptance of projects, completion dates, resources and staff required to meet objectives
  • Is required to have knowledge of related disciplines/fields of engineering. Be comfortable operating within a multi-discipline design team

 

Qualifications:

 

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (P.Eng).
  • 8+ years of working experience in Electrical Engineering is considered an asset.
  • Have a strong background in the design and specification of high voltage substations (from 44 kV to 500 kV) with a heavy emphasis in Electrical Arrangement.
  • Have experience in the study, technical knowledge, and design expertise of electrical distribution systems and renewable projects for a broad range of industries.
  • Have experience in preparing technical specification of the electrical equipment, evaluation of proposals, and will be able to review vendor drawings.
  • You will have exceptional communication skills (client relations, team project communications, and proposal and report development).
  • Ideally have experience with medium and low voltage projects in the industrial sector.

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
