Your Role:
This position will require moderate to high levels of travel. Under the direction of both Data and IT Management you will be working design and implement data reporting processes, create algorithms and predictive models to extract the data the business needs, and help analyze the data and share meaningful insights with peers. You will be working closely with customers to fulfill data and reporting needs on a project by project basis. Experience working with Powerbi or other data visualization tools is a must. Excellent communication skills are essential in order to interface with internal and external customers to gather project requirements and identify areas for enhancement involving reporting and automation. Must have the ability to create and manage business user expectations including meeting deadlines; moving between multiple projects; and, have a strong ability to self-study to learn new technology.
Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:
Data Visualization: Creating visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Data Collection and Preparation: Gathering, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources.
Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Identifying patterns, trends, and relationships within datasets.
Model Building and Evaluation: Developing and testing machine learning models to make predictions and solve problems.
Communication and Reporting: Presenting data insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
Business Problem Solving: Using data to identify opportunities and develop solutions for business challenges.
Qualifications and Skills:
Programming. Strong programming skills in Python, R, or SQL are essential for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
Machine Learning. Knowledge of various machine learning algorithms and techniques is necessary for building predictive models.
Data Wrangling. The ability to clean, transform, and prepare data for analysis is a key skill.
Data Visualization. Creating clear and effective visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders is important.
Cloud Computing. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is beneficial for working with large datasets.
Big Data Technologies. Knowledge of tools like Hadoop and Spark can be useful for handling large datasets.
SQL. Proficiency in SQL is necessary for interacting with relational databases.
NoSQL. Familiarity with NoSQL databases is also valuable, particularly for handling unstructured data.
Soft Skills:
Analytical Skill. The ability to critically analyze data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions is essential.
Communication Skills. Be able to clearly and concisely explain their findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Problem-Solving. A strong problem-solving mindset is needed to address complex data science challenges.
Business Acumen. Understanding the business context and how data can be used to drive decision-making is important.
Critical Thinking. The ability to analyze questions, hypotheses, and results objectively is crucial.
Data Storytelling. Communicating data-driven insights in a compelling and understandable way is important.
