Role and Responsibilities:

Tetra Tech is seeking supervisors to support ongoing lead and asbestos projects across the New York City five-borough area. 

The selected candidate will provide on-site leadership and oversight of inspection/abatement activities being performed by contracted personnel. Duties include:

  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety and technical plans/specifications for work being performed;
  • Responsibility for on-site coordination of project activities and communication with the project manager, client site manager, general contractor; 
  • Responsibility for coordinating apartment access (for inspection, repair, abatement activities) with tenants;
  • Responsibility for trouble-shooting equipment issues, electronic data collection and conflict resolution.

Experience and Expectations

The chosen candidate is expected to be highly motivated, customer focused, and able to work well in a team environment. They should have the ability to manage a heavy workload and travel within New York City and Long Island. Must be skilled at client interaction, organized, and proficient with mobile applications (apps), and should be focused on safety.  Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills are required. They will have demonstrated effective task management, multi-tasking ability, attention to detail, and learnability.  

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must possess a valid US EPA Lead Inspector, Risk Assessor, or Supervisor or Asbestos Inspector/Supervisor Certificate.
  • Travel will be required each day, with most days starting and concluding and ending in Manhattan.
  • This position requires driving on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining both a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The chosen candidate should expect certain physical activity such as climbing stairs, kneeling, and crouching, as well as needing to lift and carry field sampling equipment and other equipment.

The work environment involves daily travel throughout New York City and Long Island. Familiarity with New York City public transportation is a plus.
