We are seeking a part-time, Environmental Scientist for our San Diego, CA operations. 
 
The qualified candidate will be responsible for coordinating environmental compliance and sampling tasks, assist in reporting, and conducting environmental sampling of soil, groundwater, and other environmental media at multiple project sites in San Diego County and Southern California and to a lesser extent other nationwide work locations possible. 

Qualifications:
This position requires a minimum of 10 years of environmental compliance and field sampling experience.  The ideal candidate will also have experience with:

•    Environmental assessment soil /water / air sampling
•    Environmental health and safety compliance monitoring
•    Working with local San Diego and State of California Environmental Regulatory and Permitting Agencies.

In addition, you will have / be: 
•    Strong technical writing abilities
•    Strong knowledge of environmental sampling protocol.  
•    Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills  
•    Proficient with MS Office applications required.

Degree / Certifications
•    Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related discipline. 
•    Must have 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.

 
Work Environment
This position involves approximately 20% field work.  Local travel within the San Diego area may be required and varies based on project requirements; may include weekend travel and work. You must be able to:

•    Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
•    Proper knowledge on use of PPE (gloves, face shields, etc.) and sample handling is required.  
•    Lifting heavy field sampling and other equipment up to 35 pounds is required.  
•    Meet physical demands of hazardous waste site work.
•    Walk on uneven terrain.
•    Work in all weather conditions, both hot and cold, while performing field work outside.
•    Don personal protective gear as needed.


The Salary Range for this position is $32.00 to $34.50, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
