Your Role:

Tetra Tech is seeking a mid- to senior-level project manager to manage research, analysis, technical, training, and outreach projects in support of federal environmental response programs. Candidates should have expertise and experience on the programs, policies, technologies, and/or approaches for the management of solid and hazardous waste, the response and cleanup of releases of oil or hazardous substances, and/or the assessment, cleanup, and reuse of contaminated properties. Candidates should have experience managing projects under federal government contracts, fostering and maintaining client relations, managing multi-disciplinary project teams, managing project budgets, and coordinating technical and financial aspects of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging their management and technical experience to identify and lead projects under existing contracts, and pursuing new clients, contracts, and project opportunities. Ideal candidates will have some experience in business development activities, including identifying and developing project or service offerings, pitching new ideas and project concepts to current and prospective clients, and turning ideas into full-scale projects. This position provides significant opportunities for professional growth and increasing levels of responsibility and advancement.

 

Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience in government consulting with experience addressing hazardous waste or pollutant response programs, policies, processes, and/or technologies.
  • Previous experience managing and executing projects under contracts with government agencies, preferably the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
  • Must demonstrate prior experience and skills managing project teams, managing project budgets and schedules, and supporting government clients.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and familiarity of relevant environmental statutes, regulations, and policies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must be fluent in English and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow through.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to take directions and work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.

 

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in relevant technical or policy field, Masters preferred. 
Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification is desirable but not required.

 

Physical Demands:

Candidate must be able to sit at a desk/computer and function in an office environment doing office-based tasks.

 

Work Environment:

Work environment is primarily an office environment with in-person and virtual collaboration with colleagues and clients. Travel between Tetra Tech and client offices in Washington, DC, will be required to attend meetings. Some domestic travel may be required to attend meetings or conferences, conduct or support training, and conduct site visits in support of projects.
