The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is looking for a full-time, Environmental Construction Project Manager to work in our Rancho Cordova, CA office.  

Your Role:
The selected candidate will coordinate and oversee planned and emergency projects addressing asbestos, lead paint, mold and universal waste, activities related to construction projects in established buildings for government clients and executed simultaneously. Work typically includes development of technical specifications, procurement and oversight of subcontractors to conduct asbestos and mold abatement, emergency responses to unplanned releases and third-party oversight. Direct client interface throughout the project is typically done remotely but on a regular basis. The full project lifecycle of each project is typically executed over a two-month period.  In addition, you will:

•    Develop work scopes and prepare proposals. 
•    Determine federal, state and local environmental laws and statutes for projects nationwide and specifically west coast states including California, Washington and Oregon. 
•    Collaborate industrial hygiene work and adherence to regulations for large scale construction projects on industrial buildings. 
•    Conduct surveys – Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), renovation/demolition, emergency response/recovery (wildfires, floods, hurricanes, hazmat spills etc.), condition assessments, and coordinate field surveys and/or inspections.
•    Ensure all projects are executed efficiently, deliverables are submitted, schedules maintained, and budgets are met.
•    Verify and validate that all client requirements and expectations are being met for each project.
•    Manage and lead field teams and subcontractors. Including coordination of work in field with all trades conducting work to accomplish the project. Keep client and team both appropriately informed of project status.
•    Provide professional expertise in technical and administrative support for identification, documentation and notifications related to releases, and regulatory compliance. Ensure all procedures and steps are conducted in accordance with federal/state and local standards.
•    Provide overall project and construction management support during planning, design, and construction through project closeout. Coordination of access for construction and on-site support for peak and off-peak hours.
•    Initiate and attend project coordination meetings to manage and direct activities, monitor schedules and budgets. Document and communicate project changes and variations appropriately.
•    Provide project close-out including submitting summary reports, invoices and ensuring all tasks are completed based on the scope of work.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of professional project management, construction management, environmental health and safety consulting, and environmental science experience.  In addition you will have / be:

•    Prior consulting experience.
•    Experience applying and understanding industrial hygiene regulations on the west coast, specifically California.
•    Understand the work activities with an involvement in occupational safety and health, asbestos/lead-based paint, indoor air quality, and other health and safety measures.
•    Problem solving and management skills.
•    Ability to quickly, clearly, and concisely communicate with colleagues, clients, project teams, and subcontractors.
•    Able to work with clients in a collaborative fashion.
•    Highly motivated, client focused and work well in a team environment with clients and teams across different time zones.

Degree / Certifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture from an accredited United States college or university is required. 
•    Advanced degree in one of the above subjects preferred. 
•    Industrial Hygiene Management certification, EPA AHERA Building Inspection License and/or EPA Lead Inspector credentials are preferred.
•    40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
•    30-hour OSHA Construction Safety certification.

Work Environment
This position requires roughly 10% travel. You must be able to: 
•    Work at a desk and computer
•    Able to wear protective clothing for field mobilizations when necessary.
•    Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

The Salary Range for this position is $90,000 - $112,000 depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
