Your Opportunity:
The successful candidate will manage a multi-discipline engineering team including civil, environmental, chemical, process, mechanical, geotechnical, structural and electrical engineers performing designs for various clients and projects across the United States. Responsibilities will include managing employee workload, personnel development, internal/external business development/marketing, quality assurance/quality control of all work produced by the engineering group, and overall financial accountability for the group. Clients include DoD, NASA, USEPA, industrial/commercial clients, and state/local government. The work will include all types of engineering including remedial investigation/feasibility study for environmental remediation, remedial design for soil and groundwater contamination cleanup, wastewater treatment, site development services (e.g. site grading, stormwater, erosion and sediment control), process/mechanical design for pumping/transportation/treatment systems, and small structure/foundation design.

Responsibilities:
• Manage an engineering design group consisting of multiple disciplines (civil, chemical, process, electrical, instrumentation and controls, etc.) to ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects nationwide.
• Professional development and mentoring of personnel to develop long term opportunities for employee growth and satisfaction.
• Develop new client accounts and work with existing Tetra Tech account managers and market sector leaders to expand existing client accounts.
• Market the engineering group internally with multiple client/service line leads and project managers throughout Tetra Tech.
• Identify, develop, and nurture strategic partnerships with other businesses for major government programs.
• Ensure consistency of work delivered in accordance with Tetra Tech QA/QC programs and professional engineering standards.
• Coordinate all other disciplines and business units as required to deliver successful projects.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and practices for engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, bill of materials, cost estimates, and supporting documents prepared by the group.
• Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects.
• Support business development activities such as presenting at local/national conferences, building client relationships, and proposal writing.
Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelorʼs degree in chemical, environmental, or equivalent engineering degree.
• 20+ years of experience in process engineering design of treatment systems and infrastructure projects including a minimum of 10 years managing multi-discipline engineering teams.
• Preference given to candidates able to demonstrate active business development opportunities that could be translated to new projects within 6 months of employment.
• Experience working closely with permitting and construction management is desirable.
• Valid Driverʼs License with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft software, including Excel, Word and Project.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Position requires periodic travel, approximately up to 25%.
• Current HAZWOPER certification, including supervisory training, is required.
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
