About the role

At Tetra Tech Coffey, we're dedicated to enhancing our approach to handling complex projects within our specialized field. Our goal is to provide innovative solutions to our clients, always Leading with Science.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to engage in the entire lifecycle of fascinating projects. We're seeking a candidate who is genuinely passionate about learning to oversee geotechnical engineering projects including site investigations, earthworks, tailings, mine void projects, and slope stabilization initiatives.

In addition to your project involvement, you'll have direct interaction with clients and contractors and will learn how to contribute to the technical analysis and preparation of comprehensive technical reports.

Working closely with our experts, you will collaborate on diverse projects across multiple sectors spanning mining, civil, renewables, dams and hydropower and transport infrastructure — offering you the chance to innovate, collaborate, and grow in a role with real impact.

About you

We are looking for early career geotechnical engineers that bring an inquisitive and practical approach, an energy towards their work and the team, and a rapidly expanding technical knowledge base. You will have strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build strong team and client relationships.

Ideally you will have:

  • A Civil Engineering, Geology or Geotechnical Engineering degree
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in geotechnical investigations and site work
  • Soil and rock logging competency, including performance of in-situ tests
  • Some experience in the oversight of earthworks and slope stabilisation projects will be valued
  • A keen interest in developing your consulting skills
  • An interest in developing your business development and analytical skills
  • Strong collaboration skills along with the confidence to work independently when required
  • An enthusiasm to travel to where the action is, including remote areas and interstate travel
