The Opportunity:
We invite you to join Tetra Tech as part of our Geophysics Department in Lakewood, CO. As an Early Career Geophysicist at Tetra Tech, you will play a key role in contributing to our geophysical and geologic characterization projects. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of geoscientists and engineers, you will utilize your expertise in geophysics to assess subsurface conditions, interpret data, and provide valuable insights that will contribute to the success of our projects.

Your Role:
- Support geophysical surveys, including data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
- Analyze and interpret seismic, EM, magnetic, and gravity data to assess subsurface structures and characteristics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geophysical findings into project assessments.
- Provide technical knowledge in selecting and deploying geophysical equipment and methodologies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and documentation summarizing geophysical findings.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices to continuously enhance skills and contribute to Tetra Tech's commitment to “Leading with Science.”
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Science or a related field required. Advanced degrees preferred.
- 0 - 5 years of experience in geophysical consulting or research, with a proven track record of successful project contributions required.
- Proficiency in using geophysical and programming software along with data analysis and interpretation tools, including MATLAB, Python, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment.
- Experience with near-surface geophysics and/or geotechnical assessments with attention to health and safety in addition to data quality.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 40 lbs in remote and difficult terrain.
- Must be able to travel to local and remote project sites and work in the field during all seasons and weather conditions (up to 50% of travel required).
- Previous experience with geotechnical assessments, including slope stability analysis, is preferred.
- Previous experience with geospatial software, including ArcGIS Pro, Leapfrog, etc. is preferred.
- Previous experience with Geologic borehole logging or Geologic Engineering preferred.
- A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Target salary range: $50,000 to $80,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
