Project Summary:
The Jordan Public Accountability and Justice Strengthening Activity (PAJ) is designed to strengthen accountability systems, procedures, and mechanisms within the Government of Jordan and judicial institutions and enhance their ability to serve and communicate effectively with the public. It also fosters awareness and pressure by civil society organizations, the public, and the private sector on the government's adherence to the law and its international commitments to govern in an accountable manner that safeguards the rights of vulnerable populations.

Position Summary:
The Driver will serve as part of the operations team on the Jordan Public Accountability and Justice Strengthening Activity (PAJ) in Jordan and will carry out duties designed to meet the objectives of the project The Driver will perform under the general direction of the Facilities and Logistics Manager. The expected frequency of driving per week is around 24 – 32 hours.
Responsibilities:
- Support financial activities such as procurement and other administrative tasks as the Finance and Operations Officer assigned.
- Support the Project Office by performing general service tasks, repairs, deliveries, etc.
- Welcome and direct all guests to the Project Office, monitor visitor entry and exit to program offices, maintain visitor records, and set appointments for project staff as needed.
- Answer the phone and monitor office communications.
- Provide general office management services, responding to requests and preparing correspondence as required.
- Assist the Finance and Operations Officer in preparing and filling any necessary documents.
- Drive project vehicle as and when instructed by authorized project personnel.
- Keep detailed records of vehicle movements “Mileage Log” and maintenance performed.
- Identify and report any vehicle problems/defects to the relevant staff members immediately.
- Responsible for the general cleanliness of the vehicle, body, interior, etc.
- Ensure loading and off-loading in and out of the office and assigned vehicle.
- Ensure the assigned vehicle always carries essential tools and materials (e.g., spare tire, jack, belts, ropes, different types of spanners, etc.).
- Adhere to and respect Jordan's traffic rules, regulations, and project policies and procedures.
- Listen to traffic and weather reports staying up-to-date on road conditions.
- Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road construction.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum five years of driving experience required.
- Valid driver's license and mastery of the driving code required.
- Experience working with internationally funded projects preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Organizational and team player skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is required. English language skills desirable.
