Job Description 
LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking a Systems Engineer to serve as a DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in Ansible Automation, Terraform infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and enterprise systems integration. The selected candidate will play a key role in automating, provisioning, and maintaining FAA systems in both on-premises and cloud environments, supporting infrastructure modernization and operational efficiency initiatives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities - Essential Job Functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:

•    Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation frameworks to provision, configure, and manage infrastructure environments.
•    Lead the design and implementation of Terraform-based Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions to automate provisioning of compute, network, and storage resources.
•    Integrate Ansible and Terraform workflows into CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end automation of build, test, and deployment processes.
•    Collaborate with cloud, network, and security teams to ensure infrastructure automation aligns with FAA standards for security, compliance, and scalability.
•    Develop, manage, and document standard operating procedures (SOPs), automation guides, and version-controlled infrastructure repositories.
•    Implement configuration management, patching, and compliance enforcement through automated methods.
•    Support system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning across hybrid environments.
•    Participate in POA&M remediation, risk management tracking, and system accreditation processes.
•    Maintain a continuous improvement approach to DevOps tools, automation frameworks, and infrastructure delivery.
•    Mentor junior engineers and lead technical discussions on automation best practices and DevOps strategies.
 

Required Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
•    11–15 years of progressive systems engineering experience, including at least 3 years specializing in DevOps automation.
•    Expert-level proficiency with Ansible, including Tower/AWX, playbooks, and role development.
•    Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform, including module design, state management, and integration with cloud and on-premises environments.
•    Strong Linux system administration background (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
•    Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, or similar tools.
•    Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or equivalent) and secure automation practices.
•    Strong understanding of networking, infrastructure, and cybersecurity principles.
•    Excellent technical writing and communication skills for documentation and coordination across engineering teams.

Desired Qualifications
•    Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification.
•    Terraform Associate or Professional certification.
•    Experience supporting FAA systems or federal IT programs.
•    Familiarity with container orchestration (OpenShift, Kubernetes) and monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
•    Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and DevSecOps integration.

Compensation (Pay Bands)  
Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. 
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40 hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of LSTs total compensation package for employees. ** In compliance with local laws, LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington D.C."
