Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator to support Tetra Tech's electric utility field services team in western Pennsylvania.  Candidate must be initiative-taking and work well in a professional and team-oriented environment.  Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.  Prior field experience working on heavy civil, mechanical, and electrical construction projects and serving as an on-site Owner's Representative are requirements.

Your Role:

  • Pitch in where needed! Support the team in delivering world-class products and serving our clients while maintaining an overall culture of quality through leadership and action.
  • Communicate and collaborate with project stakeholders and contractors to solve day to day technical issues and minimize budget, schedule, and engineering changes in the best interest of the Owner.
  • Monitor project schedules (weekly and look-ahead) including forecasting schedule risks and assisting with development and implementation of recovery plans.
  • Active participation in contractor's planning/coordination, engineering, environmental, safety, and pre-task planning meetings.
  • Verifying and documenting compliance with project safety and environmental plans and permits.
  • Verifying and documenting compliance with project drawings and technical specifications and tracking non-compliant work through resolution.
  • Documenting and reporting work execution, observations, and testing results.
  • Reviewing contractor invoices and change order requests and providing recommendations to the Owner based on observations of construction progress, contractor means and methods, weather delays, and Force Majeure claims .
  • Assisting with project closeout, including the development and evaluation of the final project punch list, verification of punch list item completion, review of as-built and redline drawings, and coordination with Owner and regulatory representatives for site restoration acceptance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 20 years of field engineering and construction oversight/management experience, including overseeing contractors and subcontractors and working with local and state permitting offices and inspectors and other project stakeholders (e.g., adjoining landowners).
  • Strong ability to organize, utilize, and motivate team members quickly to respond to changes in the construction schedule and scope.
  • Effective at problem solving and assisting with the development and implementation of site-specific design modifications.
  • Ability to read, understand, and edit (red-line) civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel required, and with MS Project desired.
  • Applicant must be able to drive and pass a motor vehicle records check.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
  • A pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
