Australia Awards PNG Overview
The Australia Awards PNG (AAPNG) program supports Papua New Guinea's development goals through education, knowledge transfer, and institutional capacity building, fostering strong Australia-PNG partnerships. It promotes inclusive, high-quality education by strengthening accredited training institutions and facilitating institution-to-institution collaborations. AAPNG empowers Papua New Guinea's future leaders with professional and technical skills aligned to government priorities, ensuring opportunities for women, people with disabilities, and those from rural areas. The program offers three study pathways: long-term postgraduate scholarships in Australia, long-term scholarships in PNG addressing workforce gaps, and short-term professional development courses in both countries.
Key responsibilities
- Create and manage written content, social media, website updates, and event materials using Canva and WordPress.
- Oversee merchandise sourcing, quality, and brand consistency; manage media storage and professional photography/videography.
- Assist with MERL data collection, program reporting, milestones, and SOP updates.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, promoting GEDSI principles and collaborative teamwork.
- Lead by example, ensure workplace safety, and undertake provincial travel as required.
Selection criteria
- Diploma in communications, journalism, or equivalent relevant experience required.
- Minimum three years' experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or project management within international development.
- Strong organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365; experience with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, WordPress, video editing, and photography is advantageous.
