The Opportunity:
Our National Energy Practice continues to grow, and Tetra Tech is adding a Civil Engineer to support a variety of energy projects from concept to completion in a dynamic consulting environment.
This role will contribute to the design and analysis of civil engineering projects, working closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience and deliver innovative solutions. With decades of national experience, Tetra Tech offers a wealth of technical knowledge and a strong understanding of energy development—from planning, siting, evaluation, and permitting to design, operation, and maintenance.
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. The position is hybrid or remote eligible, with a hybrid schedule preferred.

Your Role:
- Support civil engineering design for renewable energy, energy storage, utility transmission, and related projects.
- Prepare stormwater management plans (including SWPPPs) and hydrologic modeling.
- Support nationwide engineering and design initiatives across the Tetra Tech network.
- Assist with construction administration tasks, including submittal review, RFIs, and site visits.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide feasibility reviews, conceptual design, permitting, and detailed design services.
- Ensure all work complies with internal procedures, legislative requirements, and industry standards.
- Maintain a strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Support project managers and engineering leads in plan development, documentation, and project delivery.
- Work safely at all times and promptly report any health and safety incidents or concerns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- 5–10 years of professional civil engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to achieve licensure within 3 years.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in renewable energy or infrastructure-related design projects.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced consulting environment.

- 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, occasional travel as required)

Compensation:
Pay commensurate with experience.
Pay Range: $90,000 – $120,000 annually
Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
