The Energy Security Project (ESP) is a seven-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the largest USAID project in Ukraine so far. The USAID ESP is implemented by Tetra Tech, a leading consulting firm based in the United States. 

USAID ESP mission is to enhance Ukraine's energy security, improve the energy legal and regulatory environment in the country, and increase the resilience of Ukraine's energy supply. This will help to support the country's economic development and sustain its democracy. Tetra Tech is working closely with the Government of Ukraine to develop competitive energy markets. By doing so, USAID ESP will facilitate private sector-led energy investments to provide affordable, reliable, resilient, and secure energy for all Ukrainians. This project is currently in the fifth year of implementation and will run through June 2025. 
 
Tetra Tech is seeking a Bilingual Writer independent consultant to support ESP under the USAID. This is an independent consulting engagement estimated to be about 182 days. Finalization of the consultant agreement is subject to USAID approval. 

Project opportunity 

United Kingdom and Europe Teams and Clients

Scope:

  • Visit project events and meetings with Ukrainian counterparts and write related articles and news for the project website and social media platforms.
  • Assist the communications team in collecting information and drafting news, articles, newsletters, stories, briefs, two-pagers, releases.
  • Contribute to the content production pipeline of the communications team.
  • Assist the communications team with meeting the Client's requests by collecting information, compiling BIOs and other tasks as requested.
  • Develop at least one success story per month on ESP energy activities and their impact on Ukraine's resilience during and following the war.
  • Back up the Media Monitoring Specialist on developing a weekly Energy News Review.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's or master's degrees in linguistics, journalism, international relations, engineering or another related field.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience in technical writing and editing technical materials.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian and English.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
  • Strong quality assurance, complemented with attentiveness to detail.
  • Experience in writing content on energy within the context of international development.
  • Experience in international donor agencies.
  • Experience in editing in graphics programs.
