The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding an Automation and Controls Intern to our Ann Arbor office. This position will support staff in Tetra Tech's municipal and industrial water and wastewater market. The selected candidate shall experience a unique opportunity to be involved with SCADA projects located in various areas of the country, working with a team of in-house experts in all disciplines.

Your Role:
- Assisting with PLC and HMI programming, SCADA system design, simulations, and testing.
- Supporting system startups and troubleshooting issues in automation and control systems.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation and drawings for automation projects.
- Investigating and helping resolve equipment software and hardware issues.
- Collaborating with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Contributing to the development of programming standards and templates used across the company.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or related Engineering field.
- Exposure to PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (coursework, labs, or personal projects count!).
- Hands-on experience or familiarity with automation tools like Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000, Siemens Step 7, or industrial networks is a plus.
- Knowledge of HMI software platforms (Wonderware, FactoryTalk, iFIX, Ignition) is a bonus.
- Interest in SQL databases, reporting tools, and data analytics in industrial automation is helpful.
- Ability to travel occasionally (~25%) to assist with on-site testing and troubleshooting.
- A valid driver's license (for potential site visits).
