Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for various short-term expert positions on an anticipated five-year USAID-funded Amman Urban Resilience Activity (AURA) in Jordan.

 

Project/Position Description: The goal of this project is to improve urban resilience to climate change and decarbonization in the municipality of Amman, Jordan. Activities under AURA will focus will (1) improve data-driven policymaking and planning, and promote behavior change for urban resilience and decarbonization, (2) improve finance mobilization for urban resilience and decarbonization projects, and (3) increase implementation of priority urban resilience and decarbonization projects. A project office would be located in Amman, and possession of or ability to obtain a local work permit will be required for all project staff based in Jordan.

These potential short-term positions will be based in Jordan. For all positions, fluency in Arabic, working knowledge of English, experience working in and managing multi-disciplinary teams, knowledge of MS Office applications, and commitment to gender equity and social inclusion are required.

* Groundwater Hydrology Expert

* Public Health & Education Expert

Qualifications:

* Minimum bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline is required;

* Minimum seven (7) years of experience in Jordan in the respective field of technical expertise;

* Experience on USAID or other donor-funded projects preferred but not required;

* Professional proficiency in Arabic, and English is required; and

* Jordanian nationals and especially women are strongly encouraged to apply.
