Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Chief of Party position on a USAID-funded Climate Resilient Agricultural Market Systems Activity in Egypt. The anticipated five-year, USAID-funded Climate Resilient Agricultural Market Systems Activity will increase the capacity, sustainable productivity, and incomes of key stakeholders in Egypt's agriculture market systems. Specifically, this project seeks to create a set of complementary activities that; (a) promote Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA); (b) improve the enabling environment for sustainable agriculture and food security; and (c) enhance the capacity of Business Development Service (CDS) providers for inclusive economic growth.
This position will be based in Cairo, Egypt. The expected term of appointment is five years.
Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership, management, and general technical direction for the entire Activity, ensuring an integrated vision among different technical components and actors.
* Assume responsibility for overall USAID contract management ensuring quality control and timeliness of deliverables.
* Serve as the primary liaison with USAID/Egypt and Activity stakeholders, responding to technical and administrative matters and adjusting programs and operations in response to USAID's technical direction in compliance with USG, GOE and Tetra Tech rules and regulations.
* Lead technical and administrative staff to ensure the development of high-quality deliverables and the provision of strong technical support to project partners.
* Ensure staff safety and security, manage and mitigate risks to successful Activity implementation and recommend and implement appropriate adjustments.
* Ensure effective inclusion of a diversity of actors and people in project activities, and successfully implement Tetra Tech's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and ethical standards and policies.
Qualifications:
* Master's Degree (or higher) in climate smart agriculture, agricultural economics, climate sciences, international development, or another related discipline is required.
* At least ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in senior program management roles, preferably as Chief of Party or equivalent, including the direct supervision of professional and support staff, oversight of large program budgets, and direct engagement of high-level government and program counterparts.
* At least five (5) years of experience (preferred) working on USAID or other donor-funded projects; direct experience implementing programs in Egypt and the Middle East or North Africa region required.
* At least seven (7) years of experience implementing climate smart agriculture or climate-adaptation oriented programming or demonstrated work market systems development for agriculture or food security related initiatives.
* Proven experience effectively working and building strong relationships with a broad range of counterparts and stakeholders, including high government officials, private sectors, and other donors is required.
* Strong communication skills, including interpersonal and written skills.
* Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
* Professional fluency in English and Arabic required.
