Description

Overview

Bluewater Federal is looking for an AI/ML Analyst to support the Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command, The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).

Responsibilities

  • Drive analytics, automation, and continual improvement across NSWCDD's hybrid IT ecosystem (u/c‑RDT&E, SDREN/DREN/NREN, JWICS, TS/SCI enclaves, cloud) by transforming ITSM data, monitoring telemetry and operational metrics into ML‑assisted insights that improve availability, capacity, security posture, service experience, and affordability.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to preprocess and clean data for AI models.
  • Create and maintain documentation for AI models, algorithms, and workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AI systems.
  • Report findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build analytics models/dashboards using Government ITSM tools and other monitoring data to support Service Level Management (SLAs/SLOs/SLIs), Incident/Problem/Change, Availability/Capacity, and Continual Improvement; deliver ad‑hoc and recurring reports.
  • Apply ML techniques (e.g., anomaly detection, clustering, predictive capacity or ticket volume forecasting) to identify emerging risks, optimize operations, and inform Change Enablement/CAB recommendations
  • Correlate event/telemetry streams from enterprise monitoring tools (network, directory services, patch & software deployment, storage/VDI/cloud) to reduce mean time to detect/resolve and prevent recurrences (Problem Management)
  • Contribute to Knowledge Management (workarounds, SOPs, runbooks) and share human‑centric ITXM insights to improve user happiness and mission outcomes
  • Support risk/issue/opportunity registers and provide data‑driven inputs to After‑Action Reports and improvement backlogs.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience developing and implementing AI models and algorithms to address complex business and mission challenges.
  • Must have a current Secret clearance with the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI.
  • Must have Security+ certification
  • Programming proficiency (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Java, Scala, C++, Tableau).
  • Experience and understanding of machine learning (ML) and related algorithms (e.g., linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, support vector machines, and gradient boosting methods), unsupervised learning (e.g. clustering algorithms (K-Means, hierarchical clustering, DBSCAN), dimensionality reduction techniques (e.g., PCA, t-SNE), and anomaly detection methods, and familiarity with reinforcement learning principles.
  • Understand the architecture and training of different types of neural networks (e.g.,feedforward networks, convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, transformers).
  • Experience building, training, and deploying deep learning models, familiarity with Natural Language Processing techniques such as but not limited to text classification, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, and topic modeling.
  • Knowledge of object detection, image segmentation, and image classification. Knowledge of Data Wrangling and Preprocessing, Statistical Analysis, Model Evaluation and Selection, Model Deployment and Monitoring, Big Data Technologies, and Data Visualization (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).

BlueWater Federal is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.  All qualified candidates will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristic protected by law. BlueWater Federal is a VEVRAA federal contractor and we request priority referral of veterans.
