Description
We are seeking a dedicated Midwife to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period.
Responsibilities:
- Proficient in medical terminology related to obstetrics and gynecology
- Ability to assess vital signs accurately and interpret results
- Knowledge of triage procedures in obstetric emergencies
- Competent in conducting physical examinations on pregnant women
- Familiarity with discharge planning for postpartum patients
- Skillful in suturing episiotomies or minor lacerations
- Provide professional care for delivery related services – mother and baby
- Provide guidance and support during labor and delivery
- Offer education on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum care
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Participate in discharge planning and provide postpartum follow up care
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on communication and empathy
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting
- Master's degree in Nursing is required
- Valid SC licensed RN/ARNP or eligibility for licensure as Nurse-Midwife/Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
- (CNM) Certified Nurse-Midwife
- BCLS and NRP
- 5 to 7 years of related experience preferred
