I. Job Summary
The CDL truck driver is responsible for delivering materials to the customer's job site. The individual must be able to interact well with fellow associates and customers. It requires knowledge of building materials, loading, and unloading procedures, maintaining company equipment (trucks), filling out preventative maintenance logs, and adhering to safety procedures. Also performs various duties while in the yard, such as keeping assigned areas clean and loading customers. Friendly and courteous driving and professional customer service is needed. Must have good driving record.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Must be familiar and in compliance with Stine Policies and Procedures
B. Fill out driver's inspection report form each morning.
C. Report to shipping clerk to receive delivery invoices.
D. Make sure load is tied down properly before leaving yard.
E. Make sure that load is not over-weight, per regulation.
F. Make sure load is double-checked for accuracy before leaving yard and job site.
G. When dumping load at job site, make sure you have 2x4 stackers to dump load onto -- whether the ground is wet or dry.
H. If banding bursts when dumping load, re-stack lumber before leaving job site.
I. Help pick up bands and trash. Put pallets where they belong.
J. Keep truck clean and in good working order at all times.
K. Keep picking slips in vehicle at all times and pick up materials at job site at customer's request.
L. Always try to put material where customer requests it to be put.
M. Make sure customer signs invoice and inspects load for any discrepancies -- make note on invoice if any.
N. Provide safe, expedient delivery on all job site deliveries or transfers fro store to store.
O. Have gate checker write RT (Return Ticket) on all material picked up from job sites before unloading.
P. Pull loads for delivery.
Q. Complete all requirements of DDMS system including pictures of delivered jobs.

A. Education: Basic education which includes ability to competently read and write.
B. Training and Experience: Must have a current chauffeur's license from the State of Louisiana or a commercial driver's license where required, and be in compliance with all Federal Motor Carrier Standards. Also have some experience with building materials.
C. Job Knowledge: Driving skills and building material knowledge is preferred.
D. Physical Demands: Work requires much physical effort, involves little sitting, standing, walking, and some heavy lifting on a regular basis. Works in a non-air-conditioned environment. (Important: This job is classified in the physical demands section of the job description [Form IV-31] as constant heavy work and occasional extra heavy work.)
