I. Job Summary
To purchase goods and service for the company in an efficient and economical manner following established policies and procedures in processing purchase orders.
A. Education: Must have a high school education or equivalent and preferably some extended education beyond high school.
B. Training and Experience: A minimum of three years in the building industry and/or in a supervisor role. Must be proficient in Excel
C. Job Knowledge: Should have a good understanding of the building material industry.
D. Physical Demands: Work requires some physical effort; involves standing, much walking and medium lifting. Works in and out of an air-conditioned environment. (Important: this job is classified in the physical demands section of the job description [Form IV-31] as constant sedentary and occasional light work.)
III. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Must be familiar with Stine policies and procedures
B. Replenishment of departments of all store locations.
C. Analyze weekly stock out reports submitted by store locations
D. Must order based on sales from a purchase advise report
E. Use Excel to create price change files
F. Work with the department Buyer for departments replenishing
G. Check and respond to emails promptly
H. Answer incoming phone calls
I. Create purchase orders for every order placed
J. Update vendor file pricing so purchase orders balance to invoice
K. Set up all new items
L. Set up and correction of barcodes
M. Merge/change items as necessary
N. Set up and change vendor sku's
O. Goal to have less than 2% out in each department; without being in an overstock situation.
P. Must maintain a working relationship with Buyers
