Description

The Venture Credit Analyst plays an integral part in leading portfolio-level analytics and reporting for venture-backed technology and healthcare companies and will work directly with senior leaders on origination, underwriting, and portfolio management. This role intertwines an understanding of accounting and financial principles with a Credit Analyst's desire to learn about the sector and economic trends impacting the technology and healthcare companies we work alongside.

 

This is a full-time, regular position with an anticipated start date in Summer 2027.



What We're Looking For

  • Participate in portfolio-level analytics and reporting for venture-backed technology and healthcare companies, including pipelines, portfolio tracking, board material development, and special projects with Group leads.
  • Develop an understanding of various forms of debt and their applicability to businesses based on each company's unique attributes.
  • Work with the Deal Teams to collect and review diligence materials and prepare credit memorandums for presentation to the leadership team.
  • Participate in deal origination and the underwriting process from sourcing through execution and closing.
  • Monitor an existing portfolio of borrowers to ensure compliance with loan covenants and report status updates to the leadership team.
  • Build relationships with portfolio companies and support senior team members in providing a high level of service throughout the client relationship.
  • Attend industry events, networking functions, and conferences to represent the firm and build a professional network.


What You'll Bring

  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Interest in technology trends, key metrics, and capital markets impacting the innovation ecosystem.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to the audience and build strong professional relationships.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in developing expertise in credit underwriting and portfolio management.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, another business-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum Required: 1+ years of experience in commercial banking, investment banking, private capital investing, or a related field.
  • Recent graduates with relevant internship, academic, or related experience will also be considered.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
