The Retirement Benefits Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company's 401(k) plan and Health Savings Account (HSA), helping ensure the consistent administration of retirement benefits programs and contribution funding that comply with legal and regulatory requirements and support the achievement of organizational objectives.



What We're Looking For

  • Manage all pay contribution funding.
  • Monitor and reconcile contributions and loan variances to ensure all contributions are reported and posted accurately.
  • Perform weekly, quarterly, and annual audits including remittance confirmations, excess deferral, 402g reporting, loans, deduction code set up, and contribution limits.
  • Respond to retirement inquiries and educate associates with regard to company's retirement plans and HSA.
  • Research complex associate data issues with third-party administrators to resolve cases and provide analysis to drive decision-making for plan enhancements.
  • Coordinate financial well-being projects, campaigns, education meetings, and website/portal content.
  • Gather and compile data for various projects, create standard reports and perform specialized queries for various projects.
  • Manage and coordinate the annual census collection process; validate annual census information and resolve discrepancies for nondiscrimination/compliance testing in preparation for annual internal and external audit process.
  • Manage the company match and bonus change process.
  • Coordinate with recordkeeper on regulatory notice and plan document creation and deployment.
  • Assist with M&A activity to support census, data gathering and communications requests, and coordinate the transfer of associates to company benefit plans.


What You'll Bring

  • Solid knowledge of ERISA and requirements concerning benefit plans and administration.
  • Experience with 401(k) and HSA contribution funding and day-to day operations of the retirement plan and HSA administration.
  • Proven ability to understand the causes, costs, and potential outcomes of issues and problems, and to implement information or formulate corrective actions.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum Required: 3+ years of defined contribution plan experience.


Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: None.


Systems & Technology

  • Advanced skills in Excel (including pivot tables, lookup tables, and advanced formulas).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience with HRIS database.
