The Operations Associate-Lost Security Holder is responsible for logging and researching large volumes of returned mail across the firm. In addition, this position will use critical thinking skills to perform database searches for accounts and research more complex situations. This position requires the ability to gain a sound understanding of department subject matter, including application support and training and general operational questions. This position will also require collaboration among team members, branch office personnel, and Stifel clients to provide high customer service under direct supervision while following established procedures.



What We're Looking For

  • Sort large volumes of returned mail from various areas across the firm and log appropriately using internal systems.
  • Identifies address mail issues and works to resolve including providing branches with the necessary documentation.
  • Identifies potential problems or issues and escalates to department leadership if necessary.
  • Performs searches for accounts with mail issues using various tools and identifies updated information by logging appropriately using internal systems.
  • Makes updates to accounts and ensures all documentation is correct, which may include returning accounts to good status from abandonment.
  • Completes various reports to ensure account coding, documents, and other account features are accurate for household mailing addresses.
  • Work collaboratively within a team and with other department areas to perform assigned tasks.
  • Provides the highest quality of customer service through written and verbal communication.
  • Other department duties may be assigned, including hotline phone calls, department emails, document coding, and other account updates or projects.


What You'll Bring

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to follow up on open tasks.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of account types and account structures along with documentation needed beneficial.
  • High-level customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn Stifel's applications, industry rules/regulations, and Stifel policies that pertain to the department and Stifel's branches.
  • Working knowledge of financial services applications, systems, terminology, and procedures.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum Required: 0-2 years of professional business-related experience.


Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: None


Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Thomson One, BETA, and Salesforce knowledge are beneficial.   #LI-AS1
