Job Summary

The Data Security Engineer I is a front-line member of the Data Security team that has responsibility for protecting corporate information assets. The Data Security Engineer I assists in maintaining technology and process solutions for the protection of Stifel data.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in deploying and managing technology and process solutions to reduce the potential of data compromise
  • Assist with developing technical requirements, evaluating vendor solutions, and testing of data security solutions
  • Utilizes security tools to enhance data loss prevention capabilities across the Enterprise
  • Prepares status reports to develop security risk analysis scenarios.
  • Assist in documenting standard operating procedures and protocols for the Data Security Pillar
  • Assist in the development of technical solutions and processes to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of data protection controls and standards
  • Hands-on experience in security systems, including data discovery, data loss prevention and data classification , etc.
  • Ability to systematically assess a problem or situation to accurately identify probable causes and solutions.
  • Understanding of a broad range of IT disciplines that would impact overall security posture.
  • Proficiency in relating complex technical situations to non-technical customers.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of professional experience required
  • ~1 year experience in an information technology or information security role

Systems & Technology

  • Understanding of data security solutions such as data loss prevention, classification or discovery tools
  • Experience with ticketing systems
  • Experience with office productivity, reporting, and technical documentation software
  • Exposure to systems monitoring tools and logging tools
  • Numerous versions of Microsoft Windows and Web Browsers
