The Vermont Department of Taxes' Corporate Unit is looking for a self-motivated, detailed oriented, and customer friendly individual to join this Unit's leadership team. The successful applicant will be knowledgeable in all corporate tax types and have supervisory experience.  A CPA license is a plus. As of July 14, 2024 the step 1 rate for pay grade 27 will be $33.78 per hour.

Environmental Factors

Duties are normally performed in a standard office setting. Incumbents can anticipate some stressful situations and strong differences of opinion with taxpayers and their representatives. Workload will vary but remain heavy. Priorities will often have to be adjusted to meet deadlines. Occasional travel requires private means of transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher AND three (3) years or more of professional level experience in tax examination, accounting, auditing, or business administration AND two (2) years or more of supervisory experience.

 

OR

 

CPA or RPA certification AND two (2) years or more of supervisory experience.

 

OR

 

Three (3) years of experience at a Tax Examiner VI level.
