Overview

The Public Drinking Water Program is seeking an enthusiastic candidate to join our Capacity Development Team.

The Capacity Development Program supports the technical, managerial and financial (TMF) capacity of existing public Community and Non Transient Non Community (NTNC) water systems. This position will work with a team of dedicated staff to provide direct assistance, outreach and education, as well as the management of grants and contracts that support capacity building initiatives.

This job could be for you if:

  • You are passionate about drinking water and environmental justice
  • You enjoy learning new things and applying a diverse set of knowledge and skills to an everchanging set of problems and questions,
  • You appreciate teamwork and are good at coordinating project work with internal and external partners,
  • You are motivated and driven. You volunteer for new challenges without waiting to be asked. You take ownership of your projects and tasks and want to make a difference.

The Agency of Natural Resources and Drinking Water Program has an employee-friendly telework policy, requiring staff (once trained) to work from the office as little as a few days a month. The rest of the days, staff are welcome to work in the office as they wish or work from their productive home offices. The position is limited service, with funding in place until September 2027, with the potential to become long-term, and when considering salary, remember that benefits are worth ~30% of your total compensation.

Have an impact where you live and other similar towns in Vermont by helping water systems improve their technical, managerial and financial capacity!

As of July 14, 2024 the step 1 rate for pay grade 24 will be $28.16 per hour.
