Overview

The Human Services Board is currently seeking a new Administrative Services Technician IV to provide support to our team.  This position is based at our main office in Montpelier, VT. The Human Services Board receives, schedules and hears appeals from certain programs within the Agency of Human Services. This position mainly provides high level clerical support - including appeal intake, editing memoranda and recommended orders, drafting form letters and hearing notices, filing, copying, mailing and having phone/email contact with the public/appellants, administrative staff and hearing officers. You will have frequent contact with members of the public, board members, and attorneys.


Ideal candidates for this position will have some experience working in a law office or similar environment and strong editing and proofreading skills. You should also be a strong communicator, both over the phone and in writing. Good computer skills and familiarity with MS Outlook email and calendaring, as well as a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, are needed.  The Board's case management system runs on a Sales Force platform; while this position requires becoming familiar with this system, previous experience with Sales Force is not required. 


This position reports directly to our Legal Hearing & Support Specialist and will work closely with other staff as well.  The position is based on-site but with some potential for partial remote work.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent and one (1) year of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

OR

One (1) year of College level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.

OR

One (1) year as an Administrative Services Technician III with the State of Vermont.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
