Position Overview

This position offers an outstanding work-life balance, providing 40 hours of direct patient care per week with no call expectation, along with the flexibility to work at multiple locations within the Bend and Redmond area, ensuring that physicians can maintain a fulfilling personal and professional life.

  • Role: Post-Acute Care Internal Medicine Specialist Physician.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide specialized care for complex medical issues (hypertension, diabetes, etc.).
    • Clinic-based follow-up care for post-hospitalization or emergency visits.
    • Care for patients in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs).
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours of direct patient care per week.
  • Call Expectation: None.
  • Work Locations: Primarily at the Post-Acute Care Clinic on the Bend campus, with occasional visits to local SNFs.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Clinical:
    • High-quality care for internal medicine patients.
    • Collaborate with Post-Acute Care team.
    • Maintain credentials and privileges.
    • Participate in quality efforts and continuous education (CME).
  • Administrative:
    • Timely documentation and billing.
    • Participate in meetings and policy formation.
    • Maintain all necessary licenses and certifications.

  • Professional Conduct: Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with all applicable laws and policies.

Education and Experience

  • Required:
    • Medical degree and Internal Medicine residency.
    • Board certification or eligibility.
    • Oregon MD/DO license and DEA registration.
    • Experience with EMR systems.
  • Preferred:
    • 2+ years post-residency experience.
    • Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
    • Familiarity with Epic EMR software.

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Physical: Ability to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • PPE: Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license and BLS certification.

Personal Skills

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and EMR systems.
