Job Description
Responsibilities
- Work in a cross-functional Scrum team, informing requirements and design and seeing it all through to implemented code in production.
- Work closely with software architects, challenging their decisions and collaborating with them to optimize technical designs.
- Inspect iterative results and propose improvements to technique, tools, and process.
- Take co-ownership of your Definition of Done with your Development Team member peers and be uncompromising on quantifiable code quality.
- Mentor more junior counterparts—a big part of your success is making others around you better.
- Deliver successfully with high quality on all aspects of development - analysis, design, test, implementation of features and deployment for cloud-based services following test-driven approaches.
- Develop and maintain web application using various UI frameworks like React/Redux, Angular, Backbone, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Ajax etc.
- Design develops, maintain and document reusable UI component, UI framework for multiple of teams using Storybook.
- Automate UI testing and cross browser testing following CI/CD to enable continuous incremental release.
- Write, unit test and integration test.
- Engage in Ad hoc testing, cross browser, and cross platform testing.
- Optimize build process and deploy application to different environments.
- Work on critical component services that provide rich integration workflows and interaction.
- Work collaboratively on projects with team members, following agile development practices.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Strong object-oriented design and coding skills
- Solid understanding of data structures and databases
- Ability to drive the implementation process for work items large in scope
- Strong communication skills to present and discuss technical designs, problems and functional features
- A team player, and willing to do what it takes for the team to be successful
Preferred Skills
- Experience in web UI development, preferably React, Redux, (Backbone and AngularJS a plus), HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, JavaScript, Typescript, Web Standards—the usual suspects.
- Experience in designing, developing, and integrating with REST based APIs. Proven expertise with building NodeJS functional services.
- Experience with the Open-Source stack, Linux, Java/Python
- Experience leveraging an Agile Methodology such as Scrum
- Knowledge on microservice.
- Experience with unit testing the code changes
- Familiarity with the securities industry is a plus
