What You Will Get To Do:
The Senior Project Manager (PM) is a professional who, on behalf of the senior responsible owner, is responsible for the successful delivery of the whole of the proposed project change. The Senior PM leads a team through the project life cycle by planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking a project plan. The project plan thoroughly explains how the project will be executed and includes a budget, timeline, schedule, roles and responsibilities among other things.
You will be responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the project and will develop and maintain the project to support each individual project within it.
This role is responsible daily to the senior responsible owner where allocated to support a project change.
- Accountable for delivery of large and complex Projects such as Acquisitions, Lift outs, Transitions and Strategic Product initiatives.
- Planning and designing the project and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
- Adhering to SS&C's governance and delivery frameworks
- Ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the project
- Managing the projects budget on behalf of the senior responsible owner, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realising benefits.
- Facilitating the appointment of individuals to project teams
- Ensuring the delivery of new products or services from projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget.
- Ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the project.
- Managing third party contributions to the project
- Managing communications with stakeholders
- Managing risks to the prorjects successful outcome
- Working with the business change manager or equivalent on the transition to the new business as usual position.
- Initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the project are identified or issues arise
- Reporting the progress of the project
What You Will Bring:
- Seasoned Project Management practitioner with experience delivery large Programs of work and managing C level stakeholders relationships.
- Minimum 7+ years' experience in Project Management.
- Experience in delivering IT, People and Administration projects within Financial Services. Ideally including transitions for investment managers, custodians, superannuation and pension funds, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Demonstrated proven track record in planning, executing and delivering large complex programs/projects on time and on budget.
- Detailed knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling program's
- Good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties
- Good knowledge of program and project management methods including MSP and Prince2
- Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
- Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the program
- The ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
