What You Will Get to Do:           

We are experiencing rapidly growing demand for performance testing, driven by new, complex migration programs and the expansion of our technology platform. We are seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer with 10+ years proven experience in complex, high volume enterprise systems and strong LoadRunner background to join our team with a shared passion for performance excellence. The role covers performance testing of our expanding .NET-based solution, combining business critical batch and online systems with new microservices and cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Self-managed full performance test life cycle: define test requirements and scope, planning/schedule, test scenario and build, execution, monitor, analysis and reporting of accurate results and status to target audiences within timeframes.
  • Collaboration with delivery teams to resolve performance defects.
  • Delivery of all test artefacts including Test Plan, Progress Reports, and Test Summary Reports to certify Releases to Production. 
  • Active participation in performance risk identification (business and technical impact) and mitigation actions, establishment of performance NFRs and benchmarks.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our products, services, and technology to effectively communicate and bridge the performance gap between business and technical teams.
  • Drive and define performance testing strategy, process, and tools for efficient and effective Program delivery, and to align with industry standards.
  • Build and optimize automated performance test pipelines to reduce cost & increase coverage.
  • Ownership of test environment and capacity planning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional, multi-region team located in AU and India. Flexibility to attend meetings/workshop at reasonable overlapped hours.

What You Will Bring:

Technical Skills

  • 10+ years in performance test engineering role which includes microservices and cloud-based technology.
  • Preferred experience within superannuation, wealth management or other financial services (e.g. the Big 4 banks) domain.
  • Mastery of Performance Test Tools: 
    • Knowledge of scripting languages and the ability to write code for test automation. Mandatory: Microfocus LoadRunner HTTP Protocol - C coding + manual correlation. Desirable: JMeter, Gatling, K6 etc. Database languages: MS SQL, Postgres
    • Monitoring and Analysis: Mandatory: LoadRunner Analysis. Desirable: Microsoft perfmon, Grafana
  • Strong understanding and hands-on technology experience with the following:
    • Operating System: Windows Server, Database: SQL Server 2019+, Application Development Platforms: .NET.
    • Cloud-based: Microservices: architecture, principles, and best practices. Kubernetes: Container orchestration and management, including deployment strategies, scaling, and resource management.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how to integrate performance testing into the CI/CD process.
  • Proficiency with Confluence and JIRA
  • Proficiency with version control GIT
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments where rapid iterations and continuous improvement are practiced.
  • Education and qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
