Job Description

Deployment Engineer

SS&C Advent has been the market leader providing portfolio management solutions for over 25 years.  Work with a dynamic team of system experts on Advent Software's suite of cloud services.  Technologies include Linux, Windows, Active Directory, SQL Server, VMWare vSphere, Citrix XenApp, Netapp, SolarWinds, Jenkins and Chef to name a few. Technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to follow runbooks are required qualities to be successful in this position.

Duties will include:

• Deploy and support APX and Moxy in SS&C Advent's hosted client environments (Advent Outsourcing Services, or “AOS”), including application troubleshooting, upgrades and patches
• Assist in testing and updating existing runbooks
• Install and configure Advent's proprietary applications and Microsoft SQL Server
• Collaborate with team members and mentor junior staff
• Develop and follow detailed project plans, schedules and related project documentation
• Participate in team on-call rotation

Competency Requirements 
Competency is based on: education, training, skills and experience. In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the individual must:

• Have expertise in installing and administering SS&C Advent APX or Moxy is a plus
• Have experience with Windows system administration in an Enterprise environment
• Understanding in scripting and automation technologies (Chef, Jenkins, Shell Script)
• Excel in complex problem analysis and hands-on creative solutions, designs and implementations
• Ability to communicate effectively both internally and with clients
• Have experience managing cloud environments utilizing Windows, Citrix and VmWare 
• Results-driven self-starter with the ability to complete work independently within a collaborative environment 
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, execute according to project schedules, provide operational support, and deliver results with a high level of quality 
• Ability to rapidly learn new technologies to implement and support a fast paced environment
