Job Description

Opportunity snapshot:

The Business Analyst will work directly with internal Delivery Teams (e.g. Solution Architects, Developers, QA, Enterprise BA's, Relationship) and SS&C Clients to identify, define and document business requirements and support the implementation of required solutions for the GIDS APAC Transfer Agency Business.

Key accountabilities:
  • Works directly with Transfer Agency Delivery Squad structure (Developers, QAs) to support the assessment and delivery of required solutions for SS&C clients.
  • Identify solution options which will meet the business need, then evaluate feasibility, to determine the best solution approach.
  • Completion of analysis and feasibility assessments, requirement documentation, change impact assessments, and risk analysis.
  • Analysing and validating business and system solutions and contributing to other written requirement deliverables necessary to increase the business value and/or ensure quality of services and solutions.
  • Proficient understanding of IT systems, databases and infrastructure including complex system architectures involving the integration of multiple systems (including third parties).
  • Utilises tools such as User Stories, Use Cases, UML Modelling, User Interface Design, Domain Modelling, Logical data modelling and Business Rules modelling in support of required solutions.
  • Manage and support workshop facilitation and solution demonstration ‘play back'.
  • Provide requirement traceability and support change management practices.
Prior Experience and Domain Knowledge
  • Ideally 5+ years Financial Services and Delivery experience (e.g., Asset Servicing – BPO, Transfer Agency, Custody, Fund Accounting, Funds Management, Superannuation, Pension Funds)
  • Commercially astute, with a customer focussed ‘can do' attitude.
  • Expertise in facilitation and collaboration with operational and, generating information and analysis, selling new approaches and concepts, and steering debates towards pragmatic solutions.
  • A flexible approach and responsiveness to new ideas and activities, demonstrated by willingness to take on new challenges, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of gap analysis and feasibility studies, requirement artefacts, risk analysis, cost impacts, business cases and delivery plans.
  • Demonstrated experience working with both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and/or part of a delivery squad structure.
  • Scrum Master experience advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Access)
  • Proficient with use of Atlassian Suite of tools for delivery (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
