Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for coordinating activities of workers engaged in receiving, transporting, stocking, order filling, shipping, cycle counting, and maintaining stock records. The Warehouse Supervisor supports existing policies and procedures and recommends improvements in both of these areas as well as in methods, equipment, and working conditions. They may supervise 10-25 direct reports.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and support the principles of Great Game of Business and Open Book Management
  • Provide strong leadership for department and communicate a strategic vision for the department 
  • Supervise employees including employee selection, development, and disciplinary action
  • Responsible for team's performance management, including conducting timely performance evaluations, track absenteeism and general time-keeping
  • Supervise warehousing and storage of all inventories, ensuring accuracy of all material movement documentation
  • Review and enforce material tracking and quality control systems
  • Build and develop strong relationships with internal and external customers
  • Supervise the delivery of materials and supplies to all departments upon schedule and/or request
  • Supervise processing of all receiving reports on all shipments received through the warehouse 
  • Maintain records of supplies and materials entering and leaving the warehouse
  • Initiate and maintain proper and necessary safety controls to provide a safe working environment for all associates
  • Drives Lift Trucks when needed, and train and certify associates on multiple types of Lift Trucks
  • Follow approved work instructions

Working Conditions:

Work is performed partially in a controlled atmosphere.   Some exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures and weather—for moderate periods of time is possible.  The Warehouse Supervisor will be required to sit 40% of the work day and stand/walk 60% of the work day. The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; talk and hear. All employees are required to follow safety standards, adhere to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.


Job Specifications

Education & Experience 

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 5 years of supply chain experience
    • PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in Operations, Business, Supply Chain or related field
