POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HR Generalist is crucial in managing hourly staffing and recruitment, ensuring policy adherence, administering benefits, processing new hires, and overseeing onboarding. This position is integral to maintaining HR compliance, evaluating training needs, and fostering employee retention and engagement initiatives.

  • Hourly Staffing and Recruitment:
    1. Coordinate hiring and onboarding processes utilizing ADP applicant tracking system, including phone screens, interviews, and processing background and drug screens.
    2. Ensure completion of all new hire onboarding processing, both electronic and paper.
  • Time and Attendance Management:
    1. Serve as subject matter expert for the Time & Attendance system, including employee training, timecard auditing, and administering company policies.
  • Onboarding and Compliance:
    1. Lead new hire orientations, ensuring a great employee experience.
    2. Maintain employee files to established standards.
    3. Administer FMLA & ADA programs in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
    4. Ensure confidentiality is followed in all interactions.
  • Benefits Administration:
    1. Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment training sessions and assisting employees with enrolling via ADP.
  • Training and Development:
    1. Evaluate training needs and coordinate training opportunities as needed for employees.
  • HR Compliance and Support:
    1. Respond appropriately to investigations where necessary.
    2. Participate in the budgetary process for the HR department.
    3. Assist in developing and communicating the strategic vision of the department.
    4. Other duties as required and assigned. 


JOB SPECIFICATIONS 

Education & Experience

  • 3 years of related HR experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in HR Management, Business, or related discipline
  • Preferred: Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Preferred: SHRM or HRCI certification.
  • Preferred: Experience in manufacturing and/or warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong ability to read reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle a variety of concrete variables.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Work is performed mostly in a controlled atmosphere.  

 

Edit based on position: Some exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. This employee will be required to stand 10%, walk 10%, and sit 80% of the work day. The ability to lift and carry up to 10-15 lbs. regularly for short distances is required. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.  

 

All employees are required to follow safety standards, adhere to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
