We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer position with the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) PATRIOT Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Product Office. The software engineer must be highly organized with a strong technical background in software and the ability to identify and resolve highly complex problems that cross organizational boundaries. The engineer must gain mastery of the field to define, establish, and direct organizational focus for the PATRIOT Information Coordination Central (ICC) and obtain Army and Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certifications and authority to operate (ATO) on the LINK-16 network. Responsibilities The candidate in this role will function within the project office's software directorate and will work with contractors, government civilians and system operators. The candidate must be a self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced working environment and be willing to engage various levels of stakeholders to provide recommendations on software technology products applicable to system performance, sustainment, obsolescence mitigation and modernization. The candidate will provide technical oversight of PATRIOT GSE software development and must be willing to brief development status of ICC software products. The candidate must be willing to coordinate with the U.S. and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers to prioritize new capabilities for ICC software products. The candidate will lead and coordinate working groups for ICC software products and work with Army and Joint Interoperability agencies to obtain interop certifications for the PATRIOT weapon system. Some travel will be required in support of this position. Qualifications Required Qualifications: The candidate must be a US Citizen and a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area A bachelor's degree in mathematics, Physics, or engineering field is required Candidate should have 3 to 10 years experience in developing scientific or tactical software systems Familiarity with software programmatic schedules and processes is required Desired Qualifications: Software system development experience in support of DoD programs is preferred, especially in an Army Air and Missile Defense program or with Interoperability via Link-16 Candidate should have excellent communication skills, experience working with both development staff and end users and strong work ethic Experience with software systems engineering and software testing in an Agile methodology highly desired Candidate must be able to acquire or possess (as well as maintain) a US Secret security clearance
