The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.
The Strategic Systems Analysis Group (SSAG) supports government and private sector strategic planning, decision making, and program management. SSAG integrates deep client knowledge, advanced analytics, and subject matter expertise to provide timely and objective technical, operational, programmatic, acquisition, and policy analysis. SSAG is hiring for a Military Operations Analyst.
Responsibilities
The Senior Military Operations Analyst will provide relevant, objective, timely, and clear support to Submarine Force schedulers and stakeholders by coordinating and integrating priorities into executable short-range and long-range SSBN schedules. Tasks include gathering, translating, and incorporating USSTRATCOM and Submarine Force priorities into operational goals; coordinating resources across multiple organizations including SSP; and transition planning from OHIO to COLUMBIA class SSBNs. The analyst will use analytic software models and tools to help build schedules that balance readiness, maintenance, and modernization while coordinating with other SPA analysts to provide them the information and insight needed to keep these tools relevant. The analyst will represent SPA at Fleet conferences, interagency meetings, and stakeholder working groups. They will serve as a trusted advisor, providing expert and data-driven recommendations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to maintain the clearance.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Ability to work in Bangor, Washington.
- Minimum of 15 years combined experience in SSBN operations, fleet scheduling, and strategic deterrence planning.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience strategic weapon systems fielding and strategic deterrence.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to professionally engage with multiple stakeholders including senior flag officers.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and provide operational insight to Operations Research Analysts, Data Scientists, and similar science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM)-focused analysts.
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Joint Force and Navy scheduling tools such as EMScheds, SMART, FSR, WaSP, and NDE.
- Demonstrated experience working in multi-disciplinary teams comprised of people with technical, analytical, and operational expertise.
- Proficiency with mathematical optimization and simulation.
- Experience with Python or a similar programming language.
