Required Qualifications: 

  • Active DIA TS/SCI clearance; SAP Eligibility 
  • Bachelor's degree and 9 years of experience; or master's degree and 7 years of experience
  • Expertise to support policy and procedure development for planning, coordinating, preparing, and implementing USSPACECOM Joint Exercises and support to other Combatant Command exercises 
  • Possess the specific skills, knowledge, and comprehension to perform all task functions quickly and accurately without supervision or assistance

 

Desired Qualifications:  

  • Prior military experience preferred
  • Experience with military operations, exercise, planning and policies 
  • Experience in space operations and joint operations and working with operational centers


Responsibilities

The contract staff member will support HQ USSPACECOM Joint Space Operations Force Development Directorate, which enhances command readiness and mission performance through joint exercises, wargames, training, and assessments. Contractor support is required in the J7 to support the core requirements in the Joint Exercise and Training Division for managing individual training, certifying Joint Operations Center (JOC) crews, managing the Joint Training System, and developing the Joint Exercise Life Cycle for USSPACECOM Tier 1 and Tier 2 exercises.  

 

Key duties associated with this position include but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and manage the Joint Exercise Life Cycle for HQ USSPACECOM Tier 1 and Tier 2 exercises including the planning, development, execution, and analysis of joint exercises along with planning, coordinating, preparing, and implementing USSPACECOM Joint Exercises and support to other Combatant Command exercises. Joint exercises events may include current and future Calendar/Fiscal Year (FY) planning and coordination activities.  Perform intelligence planning and Joint Intelligence Preparation of the Operational Environment (JIPOE) in support of campaign, deliberate, and crisis action planning. 
  • Support policy and procedure development for planning, coordinating, preparing, and implementing USSPACECOM Joint Exercises and support to other Combatant Command exercises. Maintain an exercise Outlook calendar for USSPACECOM that incorporates all exercises being supported by USSPACECOM. 
  • Attend Command working group and informational meetings outside of the exercise environment as assigned by the Division Chief to maintain insight into current command processes and procedures as required per event. Deliver action items and after-action report. 
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and support for conferences such as the Concept Development Conference (CDC); Initial Planning Conference (IPC); Mid-Planning Conference (MPC); Final Planning Conference (FPC); and Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) Synchronization Conference (SYNCH).  
  • Provide Integrated Mission Area Training (IMAT) development support to assess and validate JOC, Global Operations Center (GOC), and other operations centers on critical, time-sensitive missions.   
  • Provide Joint Event Control Group (JECG) augmentation during training, exercises, wargames, TTXs, and real-world event preparation to assist with scenarios and products related to training.   
  • Support the government in the design, planning, rehearsal, and conduct of CJCS Staff Assessment Visit training events.  
  • Provide feedback for after-action reviews; recommend improvements for follow-on Space Integrated Training events; prepare and conduct hotwash briefings; and prepare and deliver after action reports in standard command memo format.
