    Smyth Companies is seeking a service-minded individual to fill the position of Accounting Associate in our Minneapolis, MN location. This position will work in a team environment and will assist the Accounting function by processing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and job costing transactions in an effective, efficient manner, ensuring that Smyth's finances are accurate. This position requires someone with a high degree of attention to detail, the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and strong analytical capabilities. This is a great opportunity for someone new to Accounting to learn the basics, build their skills, cross-train with others, and have the opportunity for growth!

 

The ideal candidate must demonstrate:  

      

  • Must be a good team player, detail-oriented, and good at multitasking.
  • Able to manage time effectively on multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously, meeting all related deadlines. 
  • Able to maintain the confidential nature of information in their control.
  • Mathematical/quantitative aptitude and skills to track financial data.
  • Able to understand and help further enhance current business systems, processes, and workflows.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to accurately communicate and effectively comprehend information throughout the organization and with outside agencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a diverse group/variety of people and personalities.
  • Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization.

 

Education, Experience, and Credentials  

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of computers and software, including Microsoft Office.
