THE OPPORTUNITY:

The scope of this role includes a wide variety of partnership and tax responsibilities. We are seeking an experienced and motivated accounting professional who is a team player, and who will offer insights and solutions.  You will manage the tax and partnership staff of three.

 

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the firm's partnership accounting and tax, including international tax
  •  Act as the firm's primary resource for tax knowledge and information, and as the primary contact with the external tax and consulting firm
  • Manage the annual process for preparing information for the 1065 filing and federal and state K-1's. Manage the year-long tax schedule and make sure filings are prepared timely.
  • Interact with and communicate with partners and finance management on firm tax issues
  • Manage all tax audit processes and interface with state and local tax auditors
  • Responsible for the budget for tax expense line items
  • Special projects and ad hoc requests
 

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelors' degree in Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting required.
  • Minimum 10 years of public/corporate/partnership tax experience. 
  • Law firm partnership or professional services partnership experience preferred.
  • International tax experience required. 
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience required.
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
  • Strong technology capability; Elite Enterprise financial system or similar legal/professional services system experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  •  Must be proactive and able to quickly identify issues and provide solutions.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality of finished product.
  • Ability to problem solve.
