THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Spelman College and Morehouse College Internship Program provides students who are genuinely interested in attending law school with the opportunity to gain practical experience working with a law firm. This program is a paid internship which consists of three components: substantive work, training, and practical legal activities. It is structured to be informative, realistic and collegial.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Interns will have the opportunity to participate in a series of in-house training sessions designed for future law students, including, but not limited to, sessions on “What I Wish I Would Have Known Before My 1st Year Law Exams”; client panels on “What Can I Do with my JD? – A Corporate and Law Firm Perspective”. Practical legal activities are one of the most interesting and worthwhile elements of the program. These include opportunities to attend client conferences, trials, depositions, court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, and corporate and real estate closings with attorneys.
YOU HAVE:
A student interested in applying for the internship must meet the following qualifications:
- Senior status at Spelman College or Morehouse College;
- Have a minimum cumulative college grade point average of 3.4;
- Have a genuine interest in attending law school after graduation; and
- A commitment and availability to work approximately ten (10) hours per week.
