As a Payroll Accountant you will support U.S. payroll operations with precision and efficiency. You will be responsible for processing payroll, managing garnishments, maintaining compliance, supporting audits and financial reporting, and assisting with system configuration and reporting. You'll collaborate across teams, contribute to process improvements. You will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information to be successful in this position.

This position is located at our Home Office, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. We offer a hybrid schedule, with the opportunity to work from home up to 2 days a week.

What you'll do:

  • Compile and process payroll for all US partners. Includes managing garnishments and relationship with third-party garnishment service provider.  Maintain financial accuracy through internal controls and auditing processes.

  • Understand and configure US payroll system to process payroll accurately and efficiently. Understand time tracking configuration to resolve issues and provide solutions to processes.

  • Complete monthly close processes, account reconciliations, payroll audits, year-end reporting, and support annual financial audit.

  • Manage all employment verifications, ensuring compliance with policy and maintaining confidentiality.   

  • Understand payroll processes and provide support to the Payroll Manager. Backup to Payroll Manager for system configuration. Serve as Report Writer for Payroll team in payroll system.

  • As global timekeeping and payroll evolve outside the US, provide support/guidance as needed to ensure processes are efficient, maintain internal controls, and share best practices globally to create standards for payroll processing.

  • Use appropriate reporting tools to analyze data for reasonableness, trends and opportunities for process improvements. Recommend new reporting to make obtaining information easy and effective.

  • Identifying, recommending, and driving improvement opportunities that relate to the hire to retire processes, including serving on or leading cross functional teams.

  • Aid in the administration of expat processes to include payroll processing, monthly invoicing, cost tracking, year-end reporting, etc. 

  • Communicate with internal partners, answering questions, explaining processes, performing analysis as requested, and completing data requests.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting

  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential

  • Proficiency in the use of PC applications, including Excel is required

  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines for period close is required

  • Knowledge of Workday is preferred but not required

​For positions that require any amount of travel: Valid driver's license, auto insurance (at least state minimum- more might be required), acceptable driving record per Schreiber Foods discretion, and vehicle that will ensure applicant can meet the travel necessities of the position are required.
