Responsibilities and Duties: Follow operating procedures and policies safely and effectively Perform general maintenance on equipment and assist with handyman duties within the facility (general maintenance, landscape upkeep & painting) Interact with plant people, railroad crews, and visitors Operate and maintain Class 1 Power Units (no CDL required), railcar/trans loading equipment (e.g., hoses, portable conveyors, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium-sized equipment, etc.) Requirements to be successful in this position: Interest in being cross-trained on all functions at the facility Committed to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation. Positive attitude and a good team member. Must be able to attend and pass all tests associated with job related coursework. For safety reasons, you must be able to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English Some experience in a rail environment a plus. Must pass a pre-employment physical, reference checks, drug screen, motor-vehicle report and criminal background check. Must be able to obtain a TWIC card High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Computer skills (light data entry) Basic Math Skills Valid Driver's License Willing to receive general safety training Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Able to complete the physical aspects of the job including opening and closing rail cars dome lids, climb rail cars (heights), crawl under rail cars, walk long distances on uneven terrain, etc. Physically able to climb up and down railcars, ladders, and stairs safely; comfortable working at heights. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions Willing to work with liquid non-hazardous bulk materials Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds and have ability to walk 1-2 miles on average each shift #IND1
