Savage is currently hiring for an Electrician who will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and controls for the coal handling operations. The Electrician will assist Operations to provide coal to the customer's bunkers on a daily basis. These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage A safety focused culture that appreciates our team members Uniforms and laundry service Paid Time Off (“PTO”) and Paid Holidays Parental Leave Profit Sharing Built-in overtime Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) A commitment to helping our team members do things that they never dreamed possible Monday - Friday - Four 10-hour shifts (Mon - Thurs or Tues - Fri) What you'll be doing Actively participate in Savage's safety programs Perform daily inspections of the equipment for safety, mechanical, and electrical deficiencies Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems on the facility and mobile equipment Troubleshoot and repair electrical, PLC, and field device systems Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to learn and utilize the CMMS system as a tool of organization for corrective and preventative maintenance record keeping Other general maintenance duties as required could include changing conveyor rollers, greasing, etc. Collaborate with team members outside of the maintenance department, including operations team members, off-site maintenance personnel, coordinators, and management, to ensure the overall success of the operation Candidate must have a good understanding of customer service This is what you will need High school diploma or GED 2-5 years electrical maintenance experience Understand electrical, instrumentation, VFD drives, and field devices Understand the industrial process and how the different components in a facility interact (Conveyors, Train unloading system, Crushers, Feeders, Pumps, etc.) Willingness to learn and a sense of urgency in performing tasks and duties Experience in material handling operations is preferred Welding skills and heavy equipment experience are a plus Follow all policies and procedures outlined by Savage Willingness to work Monday- Friday, overtime, and weekends on-call as needed Here are some of the physical requirements This position works primarily in an outdoor environment with minimal to high concentrations of coal dust Must be able to work in extreme weather, such as wind, heat, and cold Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position: Work at heights as well as climbing stairs and ladders Lift up to 50 pounds Lifting or moving objects over 50 pounds must be accomplished by either using extra manpower or machine-assisted lifting techniques Climb on and off fixed and mobile equipment Routinely climb stairs, ladders, and work at various heights Wear a respirator and all required personal protective equipment (job dependent) Shovel, sweep, and wash with hoses as directed Perform maintenance work in confined and tight spaces Required to wear proper personal protective equipment as the environment and the position dictate Required to pass annual OSHA respirator and pulmonary function tests #IND1
