The Butane Trucking Scheduler is responsible for optimizing flow by coordinating pipeline and terminal logistics for butane trucking movement. You will work closely with trading teams and third party customers to approve nominations for movement, produce shipping schedules and manage inventory. This is a fast paced position with ongoing changes necessary to meet our customer and market demands.  On-call availability for evening, weekend and holiday scheduling will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day scheduling and operations for trading teams, including activities such as blending, quality control, loss prevention and forecasting analysis
  • Manage nominations for truck carriers; monitors and executes commodity movement
  • Partner with traders to manage physical inventory positions and recommend trade activity based on interactions with third parties
  • Monitor pipeline/terminal operations to optimize schedules
  • Analyze data and produce regular reports for the trading team
  • Engage with internal and external industry experts and maintain strong relationships and lines of communication
  • Collaborate on and communicate operational costs, optimization initiatives and best practice learnings
  • Assist in ticket reconciliation process, working closely with accounting and settlements teams to ensure all movements are accurate and updated in a timely manner to meet monthly closing deadlines.
  • Respond timely to customer inquiries ranging from movement status, forecasting/scheduling updates, ticketing information and various other movement details.
  • Work closely with operations team to communicate or relay any scheduling delays, terminal delays/outages or other various interruptions to butane movements
  • Collaborate with Transportation peers to build carrier and cost performance management capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in transportation scheduling; supply chain
  • Demonstrated organizing and planning skills
  • Ability to analyze data to draw valid conclusions, identify root causes and solve problems
  • Strong communication skills, ability to communicate at various levels within the organization
  • Influencing skills, the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and Outlook.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Prior experience with logistics scheduling, specifically trucks, is preferred
  • Prior scheduling or operational experience in the energy industry is preferred
  • Undergraduate degree preferred but not required
