SAIC is seeking a Voice and Mobility Technician to support an IT Service Management effort for USTRANSCOM located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois.  The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command's infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6). 

 

The successful candidate will perform voice service administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, device configuration, resource-monitoring, and ensuring that system architecture components work together seamlessly.

The work schedule for this position follows standard business hours fromMonday to Friday. However, the employee may be required to provide support outside of these hours, including after-hours and weekends, during planned or emergency events. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining several thousand user local circuit, telephones, cellular, and personal electronic device records. This includes activate, suspend, change services and trouble shoot issues with personal electronic devices.
  • Providing support for USTRANSCOM Portable Electronic Device (PED) program for unclassified devices.
  • Installing, modifying, and removing network infrastructure and telecommunication services (e.g., fiber and copper cabling, termination points, programming).
  • Providing technical support, installation, maintenance, and administration on voice communications, including VoIP, satellite and the integration of voice technology to support the telephony requirements.
  • Performing a variety of electronic and technical assignments using experience in voice communications hardware and configuration, troubleshooting, user support, performance management, security, and optimization of voice networks.
  • Coordinating move, add, change, and disconnect activities, executing system upgrades as required, performing preventative maintenance, installing cabling and resolving repair issues.
  • Undertaking telecommunications systems upgrades and answering queries related to system controls and maintenance of the system in general.
  • Diagnosing equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintaining and repairing telecommunications systems and equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and specifications.
  • Reporting and monitoring service order changes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS and Five (5) years or more experience.
  • One of the following IAT Level II certifications: Security+, CECCNA-Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP 
  • A Computing Environment (CE) certification or certificate for the technical area of responsibility in either Network support/defense (e.g., Splunk, Cisco, McAfee, etc.) OR (e.g., Microsoft, Linux, Solaris, etc.)
  • DoD Active Secret clearance 
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available to participate in on-call work on a reoccurring basis.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability of end-to-end problem management and ownership.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • ITIL Foundations V4 certification 

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
